The impact of knowledge brokering and role crafting on work engagement: a two-wave panel survey of older Japanese workers

Purpose This study aimed to investigate the mechanisms of knowledge brokering and role crafting structures that promote active engagement older workers at work. Design/methodology/approach The respondents were in Japan aged 55–64 years. A two-wave panel survey was conducted. first second waves included 1,527 1,467 respondents, respectively. Findings results showed positively influenced work directly indirectly. In three dimensions crafting, cognitive task had a positive effect on engagement. Research limitations/implications focused Japan. Therefore, it is necessary verify whether same observed countries other than or among younger workers.
